HVEG Fashion Group and RNF Group join forces

HVEG Fashion Group and RNF Group join forces. Leusden, Oct. 1, 2024 -RNF Group, known among others for the internationally known fashion brand Mexx gets a new owner. The transaction is pending approval by the Authority Consumer & Market (ACM). RNF founders Ferry Helmer and Ron Janssen, will remain as shareholders and part of the board of directors after the transaction. RNF Group is a prominent international market player within the footwear and apparel industry. In addition to the Mexx brand, the company is known for its own brands Shabbies and Fred de la Bretoniere and several licenses fall under RNF including brands such as Umbro and Pantofola d’Oro. HVEG Fashion Group consists of a number of renowned Dutch and German fashion and accessories companies. Commissioned by clients, the group designs, develops and produces private label fashion for women, men, children, babies and accessories. It also carries a number of brands such as MAGIC Bodyfashion, Sassa, Bamboo Basics and Brams Paris. HVEG’s mission is to unburden its customers by developing affordable fashion in a more sustainable way. After the acquisition, the turnover of the combination in 2024 will be approximately 285 million euros and will employ approximately 530 people. The mentioned turnover does not include the turnover generated through the various Mexx licenses.

RNF is known as a leading player within the European footwear market and the Mexx brand enjoys worldwide brand recognition. The products, brands and licenses that RNF carries are highly complementary to those of HVEG, while serving similar markets in Western and Eastern Europe. Combining the two companies will greatly strengthen our proposition to customers. We also see plenty of opportunities to further develop the Mexx brand in the coming years.” Ron Janssen and Ferry Helmer: “We see the merger with HVEG as a logical step in our growth plans. We do business from a strongly similar DNA which makes us more decisive in realizing our goals. The joining of forces enables us, in particular, to expand the iconic Mexx brand together.
