HVEG Group’s Better Everyday Report outlines developments in responsible business practices

HVEG Fashion Group has published its Better Everyday Report 2024, offering a clear view of how the organisation is strengthening its approach to responsible business practices across its operations and supply chain.

The report brings together the progress made over the past year on topics ranging from working conditions and supply chain transparency to materials, environmental impact, education, and product development. It also reflects the reality of that journey: meaningful progress in several areas, alongside challenges that still require time, investment, and continued focus.

Real progress across materials, transparency, and data

Several important steps were taken in 2024 that help HVEG better understand and manage its impact.

The share of responsible materials used across collections increased significantly, strengthening the foundation for future product development and target-setting. The group also achieved its target for private label production sites with strong BSCI ratings, while progress within the brands division continues as HVEG works with partners across complex global supply chains.

Supply chain transparency also improved considerably. HVEG now has full visibility of its Tier 1 suppliers and insight into the vast majority of Tier 2 fabric suppliers. This growing level of transparency supports stronger internal oversight and helps meet increasing expectations from customers and regulators around traceability and responsible sourcing.

Another key milestone was reached in environmental data collection. Following the groundwork laid in 2024, HVEG completed baseline impact measurements for a first group of products using Life Cycle Assessment methodology. This provides the organisation with a clearer starting point for setting future reduction targets for emissions, energy use, water consumption, and material impact.

Preparing for a changing regulatory landscape

The report also highlights how HVEG is preparing for a rapidly evolving European regulatory environment. Legislation such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), ecodesign requirements, and the future Digital Product Passport are reshaping expectations across the fashion and lifestyle sector.

During 2024, the group continued investing in the systems, data, and internal knowledge needed to respond to these developments. Although proposed changes to the CSRD timeline have introduced some uncertainty, HVEG remains committed to strengthening its reporting structure and preparing the organisation for upcoming requirements.

Turning knowledge into practical action

Alongside data and compliance, 2024 was also a year of practical internal progress.

HVEG expanded its sustainability education programme across the organisation, with 85% of colleagues participating. Workshops, webinars, and new tools helped teams build knowledge on subjects such as ecodesign, material certifications, working conditions, Life Cycle Assessment, and upcoming legislation.

That knowledge is increasingly being translated into product and business development. During the year, HVEG developed an ecodesign toolkit for its teams, launched its HVEG Sustainability Service for customers, and introduced a product line made from leftover leather from its Belt Factory in Eindhoven.

These initiatives reflect a broader ambition: making sustainability more practical, more scalable, and more closely connected to product development and customer needs.

A snapshot of progress and direction

The Better Everyday Report 2024 is not presented as a finish line, but as a progress update on a longer-term transition. It shows where HVEG has already taken concrete steps, where results are beginning to emerge, and where further work lies ahead.

For investors, customers, and other stakeholders, the report offers insight into how HVEG is strengthening its organisation in response to changing market expectations, customer needs, and regulatory developments, while continuing to invest in long-term resilience and responsible growth.
